ONE TUL is a faith-based community coming to downtown Tulsa that seeks to re-imagine church in the 21st century. Our mission, to help people reclaim the art of living, is a call to be present and to embrace the lives we’ve been given. It’s a reminder that the entire point of the Christian narrative is God’s desire for man to be fully alive and to know Him.

At ONE TUL it's not about just showing up to church, it’s about showing up to life.

seek truth

Truth is not something that we get to make up, it must be discovered. We were born into a story that was unfolding long before we arrived. Much like we don’t get to choose our biological parents, we don’t get to choose the truth we are born into. God is either the creator of the universe - or nothing at all. Each of us must discover for ourselves which of these realities is true. The only way to know is to seek. At ONE TUL we encourage people to explore their faith, to ask the hard questions, and to wrestle with their doubts. In the end, we are confident that God will be revealed in our seeking.

seek truth

When God created the world there was only one thing that He said was not good-- for man to be alone. Yet for so many, that is exactly where we find ourselves. At One Tul we are creating a culture that challenges all of us to move beyond ourselves, to let down our walls, to step out from behind the comfort of our digital screens, and to cultivate true friendships. The kind of community where game nights, road trips, and shared family vacations are commonplace. It’s having people who are in your corner through the good times and the bad.

seek truth

We were not created to live life for ourselves, rather we were gifted with talents and passions that are intended to be used to make our world a better place. As followers of Jesus, we believe that serving should be part of our lifestyle and loving people should be at the forefront of all that we do.

Often, many of us feel that in order to be accepted — we must hide away our mess and wear masks of perfection. Especially, in the context of church. Our modern society and media driven world has taught us to curate and edit our lives, on and offline, in order to present an image to the world that we “have it all together”. But, in the process of curating this unrealistically perfect life— we find ourselves exhausted, isolated and craving genuine connection that allows us to be known and accepted just as we are.

We believe that grace is essential to humanity and we refuse to hide away and keep ourselves from being seen and known because of shame. Regardless of your background or what season you find yourself in— at ONE TUL, you belong.

Most people think that creativity is reserved for artists, dancers, and "creatives". However, there is a vast difference between being artistic and creative. The truth is that all of us are creative, most of us just don’t recognize that our natural talents are actually creativity at work. Think back to when you were a child- you were creative all of the time, you just called it "playing".

On the inside of each one of us is a dream, a purpose for our life, a calling that’s been placed there by God that He is entrusting us with. We like to think of our lives as a “blank canvas” that we are given when we are born. Each of us gets to choose what picture we will paint on the canvas of our life. Having creativity at work in your life will help you bridge the gap from where you are to where you hope to be.

In a world that applauds productivity, multitasking, and accomplishment our culture is constantly pushing us to “do more” and “buy more” so you can “be more”-- causing us to stress more. This movement seeks to push back against culture by challenging us to create space in our lives.

We believe that the space between the work is just as pivotal as the work itself. We see in scripture God modeling this in Genesis, “on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested…” Creating these types of rhythms of rest in our lives will produce peace, make room for gratefulness and freedom, and cause our lives to flourish.

Located in a newly renovated historical building in Tulsa’s East Village and within walking distance of The Boxyard and some of Tulsa’s most iconic eateries, this urban-warehouse building is the ideal location to foster community. Traditionally church buildings are one of the most underutilized facilities yet represent one of the greatest expenses of operating a church. The ONE TUL venue was designed for optimum use throughout the week. Grab a latte from our coffee shop during the day, attend an entrepreneurship workshop in the evening, or purchase a handbag from a local artisan at our weekly pop up shop. We don’t view our building as a church building but rather a venue for the community.

As a movement, ONE TUL is taking a step away from the large auditorium service format. We are embracing the development of multiple micro-communities comprised of approximately three hundred people in each service. In doing so we are intentionally carving out space where we can go beyond surface relationships and cultivate meaningful friendships that point us towards Christ.

At ONE TUL we don’t believe in a sanitized version of the Gospel. Faith is messy and must be examined, explored, and probed as we pursue truth. We believe church is the place to have discussions on the hard hitting issues we are dealing with in culture today. Our service formats include sermons, Q&A, panel discussions, and even theological debates - all designed to get us to think and stir us to action.
